I have been studying English in the AEFS course for 6 weeks. I have learned a lot from the teachers who are very professional and very nice. They have given us a lot of information and new knowledge. Sometimes I cannot totally understand and I feel it is a little bit hard, but I feel my English is better than before. How to organise a complete and accurate sentence is one of my problems. Most of the time I cannot express what I want to say in English. I know I should read more articles, but I do not know which level of articles suit me, becase sometimes when I read an article I cannot get the the autor’s meaning. So if the teachers can give us some advice about that, I think it would be helpful. Anyway, I will try my best to keep up with my teachers.

Clean up Australia Day
Clean up Australia Day is the most well-known effort by clean up Australia. It is held on the first Sunday of March every year.
The first Clean up Australia Day was in 1990. This campaign was initiated by Australian builder and solo yachtsman, Ian Kiernan. When Ian competed in the BOC challenge solo around- the-world yacht race, he was shocked and disgusted by the pollution and rubbish that he continually encountered in areas. After the competition, Ian organised a community event-clean up of Sydney Harbour. This activity happened in 1989 and received an enormous public response. People wanted to do something that made a difference to their environment.
When volunteers attend the activity on Clean up Australia Day, they need to bring some items such as are plastic gloves and bags etc.
Anyone can be involved in this activity, you can register for a clean up site on the Internet or call 1800 282 329 or you can just join a clean up site on the day.
On the 2012 Clean Up Australia Day there is a activity in the Rockdale City Council Government Area. All volunteers will be organised by Rockdale City Council. Volunteers need to clean up local parks, waterways, beaches throughout Rockdale City.
